Xbox LIVE Arcade is the pioneering online gaming portal dedicated exclusively to Xbox 360. This year it’s forging ahead with exclusive updates of existing favourites, plus an entire production studio now dedicated to Xbox LIVE Arcade.
The first project is being readied for launch next year, a fun-filled and hilarious strategy game based on television’s notorious “South Park”. Xbox LIVE features are integral to the experience, including multiplayer and LIVE Party Chat support. As a sign of things to come we’re off to a very good start!
Coming 2008 though are Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved 2 and UNO RUSH; two very welcome sequels to Xbox LIVE Arcade classics. Retro Evolved 2 will deliver six new gameplay modes bursting with new enemies requiring think-on-the-fly tactics to defeat. Up to four players can take part in simultaneous blasting in versus or co-op modes. This is going to be mayhem! Perhaps almost as hotly contested as UNO RUSH, which allows for house-rule options to be personalised and is among the first games to allow avatar support when the New Xbox 360 Experience goes live.
To keep you occupied meantime there’s Coffeetime Crosswords, available from 16 July. 150 crosswords developed by Penny Press that you can play versus a friend or co-op to solve crosswords on the same console or across Xbox LIVE. Coffeetime Crosswords costs 800MS points. Also from 16 July onwards the evergreen Puzzle Quest will be available for the new low price of 400MS points.
Lots to look forward to but plenty to be getting on with from this week on Xbox LIVE Arcade, the ever expanding ultimate in online gaming destinations.
