Now I am the master
In Star Wars Force Unleashed you get to play as Starkiller, Darth Vader’s secret apprentice. Man, if I ever became Darth Vader’s apprentice I’d want this to stay a secret too – wouldn’t you? But in a videogame it’s okay. The dark side stays locked inside my Xbox 360 every night so I can remain a good little boy.
George Lucas supervised the storyline of Force Unleashed, reason enough for me to enjoy exploring what happened between Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith and Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope. It kind of bothers me hunting down my Jedi heroes, but it’s cool fighting against them. Plus I can blast through doors, grab and throw enemies or electrocute them using Starkiller’s bare hands! Throw in a few lightsabre combos and I’m starting to feel incredibly powerful. This physics-based gameplay in Force Unleashed feels totally new, and it can be incredible. Powers of a different kind are lampooned to the hilt in Hail to the Chimp, another of my favourite releases this week. And just like Starkiller you play dirty to win. Hail to the Chimp presents a series of mini-games with a political slant, but even if you don’t quite get the inside jokes you’ll have a giggle at the silly activities as 10 animal candidates compete to become King of the Jungle. This is a terrific party game, it’s just so crazy, I guarantee you’ll laugh out loud. Before I go I want to say something about Warriors Orochi 2 because I’m always stunned at how much action KOEI manages to squeeze onto the screen. It’s like every year KOEI finds another secret switch on Xbox to make battles busier and more spectacular. Put this on if you really want to give your console a workout! See you next week.
Out This Week Hail to the Chimp
