It is what you might call a busy week for Xbox 360 – in fact when has it ever been quiet, really? First we have a pair of splendid titles to suit flight fanatics and RPG fans. Ubisoft’s Blazing Angels 2: Secret Missions of World War II casts you as the leader of an elite undercover squadron in a worldwide quest to stop Third Reich building a weapon of mass destruction. Tons of real and imagined aircraft, pin-sharp visuals, a variety of multiplayer modes and pleasing, arcade-style gameplay are in order. Keep an eye out for the spectacular Zeppelin battle over the Egyptian Pyramids too.
Meanwhile Reality Pump’s role-playing saga, Two Worlds, takes place on an epic scale that surpasses even the mighty Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. Admirers of that game will find much to love about Two Worlds’ compelling storyline too, in which you attempt to rescue your sister from the clutches of the nefarious Dark Brotherhood before they resurrect the evil war-god, Aziraal. That task alone will keep you immersed for days – and that’s before you take on any of the innumerable side quests. Be warned, though, bad decisions or failed missions may have unforeseen consequences! In other news Project Gotham Racing 4 has been given a European release date of October 12th. 120 vehicles that ache to be thrashed, a new Geometry Wars minigame and gloriously unpredictable weather conditions – yes please! We also have a date for Bioware’s gorgeous space opera, Mass Effect – November 23rd. Enough said? Finally we’re deliriously joyful to report that Halo 3 is finally in manufacture and is bang on schedule to launch in just three short weeks. If you haven’t upgraded to Xbox LIVE Gold membership yet perhaps now’s the time? The Xbox 360 – it’s not a console, it’s a way of life!
