Now I’m in trouble
Not one, but two of the greatest football games ever made vying for the spin in my Xbox 360. I’m already in love with FIFA 09, but now here’s Pro Evolution Soccer 2009 to romance! Guess I’ll need to toss a coin because on gameplay terms there are aspects of them both I can’t live without.
Since PES only just arrived it gets the shout here today: I’m thoroughly enjoying playing through the official UEFA Champions League tournament, a short-sharp shock if your skills and tactics aren’t up there with the best of the best. See if you can lead a lesser team to victory among Europe’s elite, that’s the real challenge! The Xbox LIVE element of PES 2009 is especially strong. ‘Legends’ mode lets me take my prized player from the all-new ‘Become a Legend’ mode into online matches with friends. In both modes it’s all about how your skill and determination translate into success on the world stage. You bet I’m hooked! There’s also Xbox LIVE notoriety to be had in Saints Row 2, the newest open-world action game from THQ. You can now fight for control of Stilwater city in co-op mode across LIVE, or see how tough you really are in free-for-all multiplayer. Saints Row 2 is in every way superior to the ballsy original and, just like GTAIV, the storyline has matured into a compelling reason to stick with it as a lone ranger. I want to close by mentioning the return of Golden Axe to console, this series was one of my favourites way back. A lot has changed for sure, but I’m really looking forward to meeting up with Death Adder once more and giving him a taste of my Amazonian fire magic! I’m definitely enjoying myself this week! You have fun too!
