Archive | ‘Racing with style’ is the PGR4 motto. But as an Xbox 360 gamer we’re guessing you’re already pretty stylish when it comes to tearing up the track, right? You’ve probably read plenty about Project Gotham Racing 4’s dynamic weather conditions and the various ‘emotional’ aspects it proudly boasts. But mere words alone cannot prepare you for the genius racing experience that’s in store, and the game really must be played – no, lived – in order to understand why it’s been getting us red-hot under the collar recently.
We’d sum up PGR4 in two words – immersive and inclusive. Gone are the steep learning curves and races you feel you’ve no chance of winning. Instead PGR4 welcomes all with instinctive handling, an array of challenges that open up whether you’re a complete novice or a seasoned professional and a garage full of cars that beg to be driven. Hard! Then there’s the way you can stamp your own personality (and nationality) on the proceedings, the brilliant multiplayer modes and the excellent weather effects, which not only alter driving conditions but really affect the whole mood of the game. Elsewhere it’s another great week for Xbox 360 with a pair of titles to suit all family members – not just the fast drivers. Crash of the Titans pits gaming’s furriest icon against some very larger-than-life adversaries, which Crash can ‘jack’ into and control. It’s classic platforming entertainment. Meanwhile all hell breaks loose when Peter Parker is forced to team up with his most feared rivals in order to defeat an alien invasion in Spider-Man: Friend or Foe. This free-roaming brawler owes more to the comic books than the movies and is all the more fun for it. That’s it for another week – and no prizes for guessing where you’ll find the Xbox.com team this Friday! Out This Week on Xbox 360: • Project Gotham Racing 4 • Crash of the Titans • Spider-Man: Friend or Foe |
