Archive | It's show time!
Performance nerves are taking effect. This week we’re centre stage, shouting orders to Delta Squad in Gears of War 2, commanding armies in Tom Clancy’s EndWar, and dancing as though our lives depend on it in High School Musical 3. Throw in Guitar Hero World Tour and you could power a small city on this level of electricity!
Guitar Hero World Tour steps forward with a new range of instruments that now include drums and a microphone. Battle of the Bands mode is a nervy online jam session versus rival noise makers. You might feel safer in the Music Studio, composing and recording tunes to impress everyone across Xbox LIVE. Disney’s High School Musical 3: Senior Year Dance is dance-along heaven. There are over 30 songs here to help relive moments from all three movies. If you’re around people who love to put on a show, expect to be roped in for some head-to-head or co-op Dance Offs. After being bossed around a dance mat I’m itching to issue serious orders of my own. Gears of War 2 upstages its predecessor by improbable degrees. Suffice to say you’ll battle Brumaks galore, and Horde multiplayer makes you a true hero. Marcus Fenix and Delta Squad encounter what can only be described as a succession of the greatest Gaming Moments Ever. Those unfamiliar with Tom Clancy’s EndWar are in for a pleasant surprise. The only obstacle standing between your troops and victory is speed of thought. What’s especially fun about EndWar is that, although this is a grittily-real game of real-time strategy, the voice command element gives it much broader appeal than I expected. From where I’m sitting, Xbox 360 just raised the bar on interactive entertainment yet again. Expect a crowd. Be polite. Wait your turn. Have a lot of fun. Out This Week
