Clearly I am a shortsighted clown

Remember when I said that gaming doesn’t get any better than Xbox 360 right now? I was wrong. It’s going to get tons better… and soon!

I knew about Gamer’s Day 2008, I just didn’t dare hope for the line up MGS threw at us. My main man, Cliff Bleszinski (Cliffy B), near knocked me unconscious with his Gears of War 2 in-game demo. Thankfully Silicon Knights’ Too Human was there to slap me across the face, keeping me lucid just long enough to face its sheer blinding brilliance. See this for yourself on Xbox LIVE Marketplace.

We’ll be playing GOW 2 in November, late August for Too Human. Already the months ahead were looking nail-biting. But then we got a reminder of how magnificent Ninja Gaiden 2 will be when it arrives 6 June. Heart stopping.

Rare wheeled out Banjo Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts alongside Viva Piñata: Trouble in Paradise. Quality oozes from these approachable while hugely in-depth quests. They both comprise some of the most original ideas in videogame history, such as the DIY vehicles in Nuts & Bolts and the co-op nurturing antics in ‘Trouble…’.

Let’s just say Fable 2 will stretch even the most flexible of imaginations with its newly-added feature of ‘accountability’. Not even my bubble-gum brain can predict where events might lead my character – Fable 2 will captivate players like never before and is an experience not to be missed toward the end of 2008. 

So, next time I say things don’t get any better than this just bear in mind that they probably will only a few days later.
