Keep your eye on the ball

Being the total gaming pro that I am (cough), I seldom get too nervey playing Xbox 360 these days. My skills are polished, I can hold my own. I’m a good guy to have on your team, and a sporting challenge if you want to play against me. But let me tell you that for Rainbow Six Vegas 2 I’ve really needed to raise my game!

Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Vegas 2

The terrorist threat in Rainbow Six Vegas oozed menace against the backdrop of neon-lit Sin City surrounded by darkness. But in R6V2 scenarios leave Team Rainbow exposed on the sun-bleached rooftops too, so you must use all available cover to edge forward and work that element of surprise. This forces you to assess every scene in more detail before committing the team. It really has me gripped.

R6V2 is a game you absolutely must enjoy alongside friends. The new jump in / jump out co-op mode transforms the story mode into even more of a team effort. And wait until you’re fighting your corner in the smaller-sized multiplayer maps – this really tests your awareness skills and reflexes. Remember, soft cover can now be penetrated by bullets so be careful where you go to hide!

Sega Superstars Tennis is also served this week (see what I did there?) Anyway, SST has become my new favourite lunchtime chill-out game. Perhaps only because my Dr Eggman winning streak is upsetting some of my work colleagues here. Now I can sense that you’re wanting to put my Eggman to the test, so I guess I’ll need to take this on LIVE to defend my honour.  So be it, friends.

One last thing from me this week: don’t forget to tell all your pals that the console of their dreams is now more affordable than ever! For the rest of us, this means that competition in R6V2 and Sega Superstars Tennis on LIVE is about to heat up!
