Archive | We’re reeling! We’re rocking!
If you know your rock ’n’ roll you’ll know Van Halen, or you’d better. Anyway, Van Halen’s original frontman, Dave Lee Roth, was once asked about his approach to life. He replied, “Some people burn their candle at one end, some at both. Me? I take a flamethrower to my candle!” This week’s line-up means we’re all going to be feeling like this. And it’s going to feel great!
Starting with another long-serving supergroup, there’s Aerosmith with their own edition of Guitar Hero. I love Aerosmith + I love Guitar Hero = I love Guitar Hero: Aerosmith. Every classic cut from these bad boys from Boston is here from their earliest days through the classic 80s era until present day. I’ve dreamed of being Joe Perry, and this is the game that puts me in his million-dollar shoes. Which leaves me so excited that I’m Kung-Fu kicking my way to the Xbox kitchen to bang on some pots and pans. When I get back I’m going to spin Kung Fu Panda to become the Legendary Warrior of Legend. Jack Black’s in-game portrayal of Po the Panda is hilarious, and I’m on a mission to collect all his cool outfits. Kung-Fu Panda is knockout. Still energy to burn? Time for Beijing 2008, Sega’s meticulous treatment of this year’s most prestigious sporting event. 32 Olympic events represented, each with a control scheme to mimic what’s required by the athletes, and Xbox LIVE lets you match your skills online against friends and fellow Olympians. If Beijing doesn’t leave you exhausted you can always swing a racket in Smash Court Tennis 3. With your brain buzzing but tired arms hanging by your side there’s Command & Conquer 3: Kane’s Wrath to complete the work out. Seriously what a week! Check out the list, it’s unbelievable…
