Nobody is more excited than me about the debut of Civilization on Xbox 360. No one. Okay, you might be as excited, but don’t push it okay. I’ve been playing Civ since I was 11 years old (a lo-ong time ago), which probably explains why I’m the all-conquering master strategist that I am today!
Sid Meier's Civilization: Revolution should prove to anyone that the combination of historical real-time strategy and resource management rocks just as hard as Halo 3, especially when it looks this great and makes such terrific use of Xbox LIVE. Instead of Master Chief, an historical figure in his own right by now, you encounter Julius Caesar, Abraham Lincoln, Napoleon Bonaparte, Alexander the Great among 16 of the world’s most renowned or notorious leaders. You guide mankind from its earliest beginnings to pioneering in outer space! Sid Meier says: “This is the game I’ve always wanted to make.” By sheer coincidence this is the Xbox 360 game I’ve always wanted to play! I strongly urge everyone to sample its considerable wares. Still the Grand Theft Auto IV bug is hard to shake, which leads me to the release of Saints Row on Classics this week. This cheeky THQ gangster romp grabbed the open-world concept by both horns when it first arrived in summer 2006. The sequel is due autumn and you don’t want to be wondering what all the fuss is about. Got to love the Classics range for keeping us well versed in the best Xbox 360 has to offer. The best arrives on Xbox 360 first of course, and this week we’ve got Don King Presents Prizefighter to show off. With that Bootsy Collins theme tune bouncing around my skull every morning in the shower I’m just itching to grab my gloves, don’t know about you. But if you want to get really angry, there’s The Incredible Hulk for the ultimate in destruction! Grrrooaarrrgh!
