E3: Greatest Videogame Show On Earth

Next week I’m packing my bag and heading to Los Angeles for the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2008. Yes, lucky me. But if it makes you feel better I’ll be totally thrilled to be there; to be the eagle eyes and ear to the ground for Xbox.com.

E3 is the year’s most important videogame event, bringing together the world’s biggest publishers and creative talent for one mammoth reveal of the year to come. My bosses have already given me some idea of what will be there from Microsoft. You think I’m going to spill the beans? Man, I would be marched out of the building! But what I can tell you is that E3 08 will deliver at least the same level of impact of previous years; shows that have unveiled Halo, Fable, Forza Motorsport and Project Gotham Racing. Seeing and playing such games for the very first time is like watching a Ferrari 355 roll off the production line and you’re first to drive. Not that I’d know, but you get the general idea – E3 is just such an occasion.

What I can tell you, and take great pleasure in announcing, is that Xbox.com will be here to bring you the latest E3 news in tantalising detail. Also, my pals from Inside Xbox will be in LA to bring their flavour of lively community updates from the show floor. You’ll get a good sense of being there anyway because Bringing It Home will once again give everybody subscribed to Xbox LIVE chance to watch the latest game trailers and experience a selection of the best playable demos from E3 2008.
