So many games and not enough time; with Xbox 360 we’re spoiled for choice and don’t we know it! By working at Xbox I’ve a better chance than most of keeping track of what comes and goes. But even I’m in a position this week where taking time out to see what I might’ve missed seems like a good idea.
With my favourite Christmas blockbusters still ongoing a little side-order of Xbox LIVE Arcade action is required. I must admit that it’s Rez HD (coming 30 January) that reminded me how LIVE Arcade is a hotbed of gaming greats. Award-winning too, some of them (Exit and Pac-Man Championship Edition take a bow). So, scanning through the list there are plenty more XBLA games I need to spend more time with ASAP. I’m going to kick things off with another of Q Entertainment’s imaginative titles, Every Extend Extra Extreme, a mesmerizing game with long-lasting appeal. Perhaps not so surreal but equally ingenious is Sierra Online’s Switchball. I love it because it’s so colourful and pure fun – my girlfriend likes it too. Can’t really say the same for Mutant Storm Empire, but the art of ‘Blastikkidoo’ certainly isn’t lost on me. I love Mutant Storm! It’s chaos! What’s especially ace about Xbox LIVE Arcade is the sheer diversity of games, and that developers aren’t afraid to try something new… even crazy! Which reminds me, I have some Boom Boom Rocket updates to download and I need to grab some more exotic fish for my Tetris Splash virtual fish-tank! Get on Xbox LIVE Arcade and find some treasures for yourself! |
