Start 2008 With A Royal Adventure

2007 was a tough year, especially the last quarter. I mean, Halo 3, Mass Effect, Assassin’s Creed, Call of Duty 4, The Orange Box – have you finished them yet? Great games all and each a mighty challenge, but I reckon they’re small fry compared to Kingdom Under Fire: Circle of Doom.

Kingdom Under Fire

Keen Xbox gamers might know Kingdom Under Fire as a cool brand of real-time strategy games but this newest chapter is back with a bang and a BIG difference. How big? How about a single-player adventure that’ll easily devour 50 intensive hours of your time – or a mind boggling 100+ hours if you’re intent on seeing all there is to offer! Is that how you spell ‘Expansive’?

There’s a big difference to the gameplay too, which takes on an innovative role-playing flavour this time around, complete with a two or four-player online co-operative mode over Xbox LIVE, highly destructible environments and randomly generated maps that guarantee a different experience every time you play. And that’s not even mentioning the hordes of Dark Dimension beasts that do their best to thwart your every move. Good job you’re equipped with an arsenal of weapons and abilities which get more spectacular as the game progresses.

You’re going to need plenty of space in your gaming diaries to take on the massive challenge Circle of Doom has in store – but you still have time to complete Altair’s quest or uncover the final mysteries of Black Mesa before the game launches on February 1st. Until then there’s a free demo on January 18th, Theme and Picture Packs launching on the 18th, 25th and February 1st and, finally, a downloadable content pack on February 18th.

Ah yes, exciting times indeed. But, hey, we’re just trying to start the year as we mean to go on…
