Some great finds, I’m sure you’ll agree

If you’re ever going to ‘lose’ yourself in mystery, this really is a terrific week to start. Both “LOST”, the videogame, and “Lost Odyssey” are captivating dramas like no others. Right now I’m deep into the pair of them, up over eyebrows!

If you’re a fan of LOST the television series, this Xbox 360 adventure meets all expectations. For starters we have a new character, photographer Elliott, who settles among the rest of the survivors. Together they figure out what everything means on that spooky island via puzzle-solving scenarios which can get pretty scary. No need to worry about spoilers for Season Four, by the way; the game is a side story to events in seasons One, Two and Three.

Lost Odyssey is the newest RPG from Mistwalker, the folks who created Blue Dragon. The quality hits you immediately with visuals to make you weep (with joy) and a rousing orchestral score. I’m honestly overwhelmed by the soul-searching nature of hero Kaim, especially given the sensational translation dialogue from the original Japanese. Those guys on LOST think they’ve got problems. When I’m not trying to straighten out other people’s lives I’m throwing myself into Beautiful Katamari for some colourful good times, ball-rolling to my heart’s content accompanied by sunny songs. Either that or hardening my battle strategy in Frontlines Fuel of War, because I don’t want to lose sight of my rough and tough sensibilities! Sorry, just beating my chest over here.

Well, I’ve just got time for another quick blast on Trigger Heart Excelica, the mesmerising Xbox LIVE Arcade shoot-’em-up for this week, before getting back to some work. I’d tell you what that is, but it’s a secret…
