You’re never alone (though it sometimes feels like it!)

Friends, I need your support! I’ve doing my best to keep my chin up, but with “Devil May Cry 4” and “Conflict: Denied Ops” to contend with my willpower is being tested in the extreme. I’ve the fate of the world on one shoulder, and the fate of the human soul on the other. This could take more than a mug of hot cocoa to survive.

Conflict: Denied Ops

For those of you who love their action gritty and real, Conflict: Denied Ops delivers without impunity. Although challenging, what spurs you forward is knowledge that your two-man team are specialists in weapons and battle strategies – you are the best of the best and you’re literally going to have a blast proving this to unsuspecting bad guys. You make one heck of an impact too, thanks to the Puncture Tech system that allows most objects in your environment to be shot to pieces or blown sky high. The tactical buddy-switching system is one of the best I’ve encountered too.

This coming week you’ll know all about why Devil May Cry 4 has been keeping me so enthused. Capcom’s DMC4 is pure fantasy – you could never stage such outrageous events in reality or even in the movie theatre – but this is one of the enduring, sensational aspects of Xbox 360 gaming that I absolutely love: not just watching Nero let loose devastating demonic powers versus improbable foes, but being in control and guiding the action to its many stupefying climaxes.

I’ve been tempted to paint Do Not Disturb on my front door in big gothic letters, but I doubt that my girlfriend would approve…
