With such a blockbuster on the horizon you’d forgive anyone for wanting to keep their powder dry. But that’s not how we do things – we’ve had a flurry of activity recently and the launch of some brilliant games. Bioshock, Blue Dragon and the sleek Xbox 360 Elite, anyone? There’s more quality arriving this week too, with Stuntman: Ignition and Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2008.
In Stuntman: Ignition you’re a new face on the Hollywood backlots, keen to make his name in the world of megabucks movies by way of performing outrageous acts of automotive death-defiance – bigger and better than anyone else, naturally. There are over 25 high-speed vehicles to destroy; six themed movies to take part in and 36 separate stunt runs, all of which are enhanced by the ability to improvise your own stunt creations. Adrenaline will be pumped, we think. Then there’s Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2008 which is packed with new features. A putt preview camera adds control where it’s really needed and updated visuals bring a greater sense of ‘being there’. Speaking of which, plug in the LIVE Vision Camera and you can map your own face into the game! Meanwhile Tiger’s new ‘confidence’ system means that you’ll need to be ‘in the zone’ on every hole – bunker shots a problem? You’ll have to try doubly hard next time. Best of all is the GamerNet feature where you can record your best shots or rounds and post them online as challenges for other players to try.
