My Xbox

I want it. I've got it.

One downside of inviting friends to mine is they get to see my CD collection. This is music that goes back years and means a lot to me, but not always easy to defend – like some of my hairstyles from college.

Too Human

Same goes for my Xbox. Recently played games aren’t always the ones you might expect, and some of the guys can get really snobby about it. Like, I’m back into Psychonauts lately because it’s just so hilarious, and Street Fighter II Hyper Fighting – a 15 years old 2D game – still gets a work out. Sure I’m playing Guitar Hero III too, and I’m untouchable at “Through the Fire and Flames”. I completed my last Call of Duty with honours; Too Human and PES 2009 will be a priority the week they arrive. Point is, this is my Xbox! I’m going to do what I want.

My Xbox 360 hard drive is full of the stuff I like. You don’t have to like it, that’s okay. This is something that has emerged to be so unique about Xbox. It’s all the gaming that I need, even though what I crave won’t always be the same as for the next guy.

It used to be you either liked videogames or you didn’t. Xbox has really changed all that. It’s not just about choice, it’s about the love people put into creating games for such a diverse range of interests, and not always ones that will be million sellers, but matter a whole lot to those who care. Xbox LIVE is awesome in this respect – check what’s happening with the Summer of Arcade for example.

This week I just wanted to say enjoy Xbox the way you want to. And don’t listen to what anyone else says, because what do they know!
