X06 stages WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2007
Just like real-world WWE and RAW there’s plenty to take in all at once. In no particular order before getting down to the meat of the matter, General Manager Mode is expanded, the roster of tough guys and gals updated to include Chris Benoit, The Undertaker, Triple H, Booker T, Johnny Nitro and Shelton Benjamin. Xbox Live bouts are now set up to allow voice chat… so have your best taunts at the ready (but keep it clean if you value that Gold subscription!).
An unprecedented degree of modifications have been made to the interface this year, so much so that you’re partially learning the game from scratch. With the new grappling system mapped onto the analogue sticks, you feel so involved it’s steamy. Potential for causing the other guy discomfort extends out of the ring too, as you’re now able to toss opponents into the crowd and follow up with improvised tools such as tables and TV equipment. This truly is Pay-Per-View insanity. Even Ladder Matches have enjoyed an overhaul, ditching button-bashing in favour of skilled use of analogue sticks to dislodge the belt from the rafters. You can also have fun slamming ladders onto opponents, and stack up ladders to create precarious high spots for outrageous aerial assaults. Booyah! WVR07 is built like Benjamin and rocks like Johnny Nitro. |
