Half-Life 2 for Xbox 360 at X06… enough said

The Half-Life series spawned two of the greatest single-player FPS adventures, and by far the most played multi-player scenarios. In it’s debut for Xbox 360 we’re looking forward to the ultimate Half-Life experience in one box: Original Half-Life 2, Half-Life 2: Episode One and Episode Two expansion packs, the newly announced single-player game Portal, and last but by no means least the rabidly sought after multi-player behemoth Team Fortress 2.

Half-Life 2

So we’re heading back into action as the bearded and boiler-suited Gordon Freeman, the meek scientist caught up in a battle to save earth from marauding aliens! Half-Life 2: Episode One and Episode Two are continuations of the story you may have enjoyed on Xbox. The latter introduces a new technology dubbed Cinematic Physics to the game world, enabling huge structures to collapse dramatically in real time. Episode Two will also lead Freeman out of City 17 to face unknown dangers.

The new single-player game, Portal, is an experimental idea from Valve that evolved around a special weapon that opens up portals, creating shortcuts within the world. They’re similar to those in Prey, but you can create them wherever and at will. This introduces a fascinating puzzle element, saving your self from a nasty fall or triggering switches using objects from far-off places. Yes, wow.

Saving the best till last, we expect the multi-player par excellence of Team Fortress 2 to rule on Xbox Live. Original Team Fortress is legendary among PC players, and Valve says its follow-up is being engineered to be best class-based shooter around. Occasionally while walking around X06 we just had to stop and shake our heads in disbelief at this awesome package coming to Xbox 360.
