There have been some Very Important persons (VIPs) wafting around the Leipzig GC, but none more important than our Very Important Gamers (VIGs). We mean it.
This week, Microsoft invited as special guests three of the Xbox Community Network’s fansite editors to report on the Leipzig Games Convention. Barrie Scott Rogers from the UK's 360Monster.com, Sarah Godeke from Germany's Xbox-Newz.de, and Julien Bourey from France's Xbox-mag.net received an all-expenses paid trip to the event, where they could meet and greet fellow Xbox luminaries. Okay, maybe Sarah could have caught the bus but honestly our hotel is really something!

Our schedule has included head-to-heads with Chris Lewis (Regional VP of Xbox EMEA) and Larry Hryb (a.k.a. Major Nelson), plus meetings with the top guys from Rare, Activision and 2K Games. We watched the press conference from the comfort of the exclusive community tent, and had backstage passes to everything. It’s been awesome hanging with these guys, and we’ve really learned a lot.
The Xbox Community Network links together well over 100 fansites dedicated to Xbox 360, and Microsoft works very closely with them to make sure they have everything they need. You can check out the XCN sites at your local Xbox.com community homepage. Be sure to admire this week’s reports from Leipzig because the VIG treatment will blow your mind.
