Team Rainbow parties in Sin City

A new level for Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Vegas makes its debut at Leipzig this week, giving a little more insight into the most dramatic episode yet. As you may already know, Rainbow Six Vegas is set against the backdrop of the notorious Nevada desert entertainment destination, a.k.a. Sin City. It also marks the next-generation debut for Team Rainbow, which now comprises a new leader and team members: Logan Keller, recon expert; Michael Walter, heavy weapons and demolition expert, and finally Jung Park Long range and electronics specialist.

The demo being shown this week in Leipzig is the so-called 'Dante' map – an under-construction casino being exploited by terrorists as their impromptu HQ. In fact the entire city of Las Vegas is under siege by these terrorists, bringing landmark locations such as the Strip and Fremont Street into the drama.

Next-generation online features will shine on Xbox Live with Rainbow Six Vegas. You can create your own avatar for multiplayer games, which evolves the more you play. In addition to acquiring new equipment, milestones reached with your avatar contribute to Xbox Live achievements too.

Ubisoft’s Montreal studio, the team behind Rainbow Six 3 on original Xbox, has introduced plenty more gameplay enhancements for next-gen. These include real-time tactical suggestions from team mates Michael and Jung, in response to real-time mission briefings, all in an attempt to outsmart the improved enemy AI.

Logan Keller and his squad have access to the latest in high-tech equipment, which includes a ‘snake cam’ to ID targets before committing the guys to make a move. When the action does explode, it does so with much more realism, partly because of the incredible next-generation rendering, but also due to improved animations for rappelling down walls, providing blind-cover fire and much more.

Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Vegas is due for Xbox 360 later this year.
