More choice, more fun on Xbox 360
The public attending the Leipzig GC this week is getting hands-on with a range of titles that include everything from the next-gen glitz of Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell: Double Agent, to the classic Texas Hold ’em, and Viva Piñata providing hilarious good fun for all ages.
Great news for football fans especially, as Xbox 360 is the only next-generation console fielding the giants of soccer this year: Electronic Arts’ FIFA 07 and Konami’s Pro Evolution Soccer 6 are exclusive to Xbox 360. Both games make extensive use of Xbox Live to improve their celebrated and unique formulas. They contribute to a library totalling over 160 games for Xbox 360 and Xbox Live Arcade that will be available this coming Christmas. Buddy, you’re just gonna need a bigger stocking!

For its share of the excitement, Xbox Live Arcade will soon be home to adaptations of three popular board games originating from Germany: Settlers of Catan, Carcassonne and Alhambra. Not only are they immensely enjoyable, they’re ideally suited for online multiplayer sessions. They’ll even feed your brain with their varied strategic goals; conquering the world or becoming wealthy beyond your dreams.
And don’t forget “Xbox Live Arcade Wednesdays”, Microsoft’s famous weekly fixture for Xbox 360 players hooked on Live. On the opening day of the GC, 23 August, Texas Hold ’em poker can be downloaded offering three modes of gameplay for up to eight players. A week later, on 30 August, there’s gonna be Konami’s futuristic shoot ’em up Time Pilot for just 400 Microsoft Points. Then on 6 September, another seminal shooter from Konami in the form of Scramble, perfectly preserved from the original 1981 coin-up, again costing only 400 Microsoft Points.
Now is certainly a very good time to be playing Xbox 360 and Xbox Live Arcade, as you can see from this list of games on display in Leipzig this week:
