Time to get physical

Customising your Xbox 360 is about to get a whole lot more interesting, with four new accessories released between now and Christmas in addition to funky new Faceplates that’ll be the envy of all your pals.

Starting with something familiar: Faceplates! Microsoft has a bunch of tantalizing new ones in the pipeline, special editions no less, for games that include Forza Motorsport 2, Viva Pinata and, at last, the Halo Franchise!

Time To Get Physical

Next up, the wireless revolution shifts up a gear, starting with the Xbox 360 Wireless Racing Wheel. This sturdy piece of kit, released in November, features force feedback for an authentic driving experience. For a limited time only the wheel will be sold together with a specially engineered version of Project Gotham Racing 3 enabled for force feedback response.

Also for Xbox 360 is the Wireless Headset for Xbox Live. In addition to celebrating with more wild abandon when you win (or writhing around in further melodramatic agony should you lose) the Wireless Headset improves voice quality over the Xbox Live network. You can pick up one of these on 31 December.

Gamers wanting to feel at home with their favourite gear on PCs will want to hunt down the Xbox 360 Wireless Gaming Receiver for Windows. Releases in early November, this compact receiver plugs into the USB 2.0 port on the PC and allows the use of any Xbox 360 wireless accessories.

Now, a fanfare for our final accessory announcement today: the Xbox Live Vision camera for Xbox 360! This device allows you to video chat, send photo messages, create custom images for your Xbox Live Gamertag and even put your own face in games that support this feature.

Xbox Live Vision camera for Xbox 360 is coming to Europe on 6 October in two flavours: the standard kit (£34.00) includes the camera, a one-month Xbox Live Membership, an Xbox 360 Headset and two free full-version downloads of Xbox Live Arcade games. Alternatively, the Xbox Live Vision Premium Gold Pack (£54.99) gives you the camera, a 12-month Xbox Live Gold Membership, 200 Microsoft points, and download tokens for two full-version Xbox Live Arcade games – the 80s arcade classic Robotron, the timeless UNO card game.

Heck, that’s a whole lot of accessorising to be done!
