January's Gamer of the Month, Sup3rT3d, is a lucky boy. He recently won the chance to represent the Xbox.com forums at The Gathering 2008: Live Your Moment, Xbox's premium European community event.
AceyBongos: Right Sup3rT3d, tell us how long you’ve been part of the Xbox Community?
Just over a year now. I never really caught the gaming bug when I was a kid but once I moved into my first house I decided an Xbox was vital furniture. It rapidly took over my life and its now my main hobby!
AceyBongos: Your GamerTag is pretty self-explanatory, but were you a big fan of the wee caped bear and what lessons about life did he teach you?
My grandma had all the videos so whenever I'd go over there I'd watch them obsessively. I suppose the most important thing it taught me is that in our own way we are all heroes inside. Or don't trust skeletons that talk - take your pick!
AceyBongos: Tell us something most people don’t know about you…
I was raised by wolves. Sometimes in the night I hear them howling my name, but I know I can never, ever go back.
AceyBongos: What kind of games do you play most and are you more of a LIVE or solo gamer?
FPS and Western RPGs are the genres that really do it for me, so my time divides pretty evenly between online and off. Its good to mix it up since they're such totally different experiences. I'd hate to miss out on either.
AceyBongos: For you, what’s the best thing about the Xbox community?
There are millions of people on LIVE but it still feels close-knit and friendly. When you meet someone and it turns out you're both on Live you instantly know they're going to be on the same wavelength. Xbox just seems to attract genuinely nice people, which is one more reason I'm glad to be part of it.
AceyBongos: You were lucky enough to be the Xbox.com Forums reporter at The Gathering 2008. How was it?
It was fantastic. I had an incredible weekend, played some top new games, met a lot of cool people from all over Europe and had a really good laugh in the process. I felt fairly gruesome on Sunday morning, but it was worth it! I'm already plotting how to crash the next one...
AceyBongos: What games are you looking forward to next year?
The Christmas season next year should be even better than this one but even in the first couple of months we're not short of quality titles - F.E.A.R 2, Halo Wars, and Bionic Commando to name a few. The DLC for Fallout 3 and GTAIV are must-buys as well.
AceyBongos: What message would you like to send to the Xbox community?
