Xbox Canada Spring Clean-Up Contest
OFFICIAL RULES AND REGULATIONS
1. No purchase necessary. To be eligible to win, a participant must be a resident of Canada and of the age of majority in his or her providence or residence. Any potential participant who is an employee of Microsoft Corporation or Microsoft Canada Co. (“Microsoft”), their affiliated companies, advertising agencies, prize suppliers or other representatives, or a member of the respective immediate families of such employees or anyone with whom such employees are domiciled is ineligible to participate in the contest.
2. The contest will run from Monday June 1st, 2009 at 8:00 a.m. (ET) to Friday July 3, 2009 at 5:00 p.m (ET).
3. Eligible participants may enter the contest by one of two means:
(a) Entering online by registering with your Xbox Live Gamertag and associated Windows LIVE ID via our contest website (see http://www.xbox.com/en-ca/community/springcleanup/ for complete details); one entry per Xbox Live Gamertag; or
(b) By obtaining a contest entry form by sending a self-addressed, stamped envelope to:

and completing and returning the entry form. One entry form per household.
Mail-in entry forms will not be distributed after the close of the contest on July 3, 2009 and must be received by July 6, 2009. The form will be entered into the draw closest to the date received. Incomplete or late entries will not be accepted. Microsoft takes no responsibility for lost, late, destroyed or misdirected
4. A total of thirty-eight (38) winners will be selected by random draw to be held on the dates/times listed below.
- Week 1 - Tuesday June 9th , 2009 at 10:00am (ET)
- Week 2 - Tuesday June 16th , 2009 at 10:00am (ET)
- Week 3 - Tuesday June 23rd , 2009 at 10:00am (ET)
- Week 4 - Tuesday June 30th , 2009 at 10:00am (ET)
- Week 5 - Tuesday July 7th , 2009 at 10:00am (ET)
Each draw will be held at Microsoft located at 1950 Meadowvale Blvd, Mississauga, ON. The chances of being selected depend upon the number of entries. There will be two separate categories for each draw: 1) A Daily Category Prize and 2) A Weekly Category Prize. Entrants may only win once in each category during the duration of the contest, but are eligible for all draws that take place after the date their entry is received.
Week 1: Ten (10) Winners will be selected at random.
- Five (5) will win the Daily Category prize
- Five (5) will win the Weekly Category prize
Week 2: Ten (10) Winners will be selected at random.
- Five (5) will win the Daily Category prize
- Five (5) will win the Weekly Category prize
Week 3: Six (6) Winners will be selected at random.
- Five (5) will win the Daily Category prize
- One (1) will win the Weekly Category prize
Week 4: Six (6) Winners will be selected at random.
- Five (5) will win the Daily Category prize
- One (1) will win the Weekly Category prize
Week 5: Six (6) Winners will be selected at random.
- Five (5) will win the Daily Category prize
- One (1) will win the Weekly Category prize
5. Winners will be notified by telephone within four (4) days of the draw and, prior to being declared a winner, will be required to correctly answer, unaided and without mechanical or electronic assistance, a time-limited, mathematical skill-testing technical question, to be administered by telephone at a mutually convenient time.
6. If a selected winner is unable to correctly answer the skill-testing question, cannot be reached by telephone within four (4) days of the draw, or otherwise does not meet all contest conditions, his or her prize will be forfeited and another entrant will be drawn from the remaining eligible entries.
7. There are twenty-five (25) Daily prizes available to be won and thirteen (13) Weekly Prizes. Prizing consists of:
Week 1:
- Five (5) Daily Prize packs each consisting of five (5) Xbox LIVE codes (Xbox LIVE codes are used for downloading games selected solely by Microsoft’s discretion). Approximate retail value of $50.00.
- Five (5) Weekly Prize packs each consisting of one (5) Gamers Night in Prize (consisting of 1,500 Microsoft Points, 2 packs of popcorn and a reusable popcorn bucket) . Approximate retail value of $40.00
Week 2:
- Five (5) Daily Prize packs each consisting of five (5) Xbox LIVE codes (randomly selected Xbox LIVE games) Approximate retail value of $50.00
- Five (5) Weekly Prize packs each consisting of one (1) Gears of War branded Zunes. Approximate retail value of $280.00
Week 3:
- Five (5) Daily Prize packs each consisting of five (5) Xbox LIVE codes (randomly selected Xbox LIVE games) Approximate retail value of $50.00
- One (1) Weekly Prize pack consisting of one (1) Limited Edition Halo Wars Elite Console. Approximate retail value of $400.00
Week 4:
- Five (5) Daily Prize packs each consisting of five (5) Xbox LIVE codes (randomly selected Xbox LIVE games) Approximate retail value of $50.00
- One (1) Weekly Prize pack consisting of one (1) Resident Evil 5 Elite Console. Approximate retail value of $400.00
Week 5:
- Five (5) Daily Prize packs each consisting of five (5) Xbox LIVE codes (randomly selected Xbox LIVE games) Approximate retail value of $50.00
- One (1) Weekly Prize pack consisting of one (1) GTA IV Elite Console. Approximate retail value of $400.00
Microsoft will email or courier all prizes to the winners within four (4) weeks of being named a qualified winner.
8. The prizes are non-transferable and no cash alternatives will be provided. Microsoft reserves the right to substitute the prizes described above in (7) with prizes of equal or greater value.
9. By entering, all participants agree to abide by the official rules and regulations and decisions of the contest organizers which are final. All entries become the property of Microsoft and will not be returned.
10. To be declared a winner, a selected participant will be required to sign a declaration and release to: (a) confirm compliance with the official rules and regulations; (b) release Microsoft from all liability; (c) accept the prize as awarded; and (d) consents to the use of winner’s name, city and/or province of residence, photograph, voice, image, likeness, biographical information and information about the prize, for any publicity or programming purposes, commercial or otherwise, throughout the world in any and all media used by Microsoft and its advertising and promotional agencies in connection with the contest, without payment or compensation.
11. The contest is subject to all applicable federal, provincial and municipal laws and regulations. Void where prohibited.
12. No correspondence will be entered into with participants except with the winner.
13. Subject to the approval of the Régie des alcools des courses et des jeux, Microsoft reserves the right in its sole discretion to cancel or suspend the contest should causes beyond the control of Microsoft corrupt the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the contest.
14. Microsoft assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction to or unauthorized alteration of the entries. Microsoft is not responsible for (i) any problems or technical malfunctions or any telephone network or lines, computer on-line systems, servers, or providers, computer equipment, software; (ii) the failure of any e-mail or entry to be received by Microsoft on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any web site; or (iii) any combination thereof, including any injury or related damage to participants or any other persons, whether computer-related or resulting from participation or downloading of any materials in this contest.
15. With respect to Québec residents and to entries originating within the Province of Québec, any litigation respecting the conduct or organization of a publicity contest may be submitted to the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux for a ruling. Any litigation respecting the awarding of a prize may be submitted to the Régie only for the purpose of helping the parties reach a settlement.
