X'08 Canada - Community Voices

The annual X'0 event has come and gone for another year, and over 100 lucky Canadian Xbox community members were able to participate in this year's unreleased games extravaganza! For those who were fortunate enough to score an invite to the massive event, it was a rare opportunity to get hands-on with games that won't hit stores for months!

For everyone, it was a chance to meet tons of great Xbox community members, chum around with industry bigwigs like Epic Games' Cliff Bleszinksi, and, of course, play amazing, unreleased Xbox 360 games.

But you don't want to hear it from me - I'm biased! ;) Take a look at the blog posts and articles below to see what gamers just like you said about X'08 Canada, the games on display and the once-in-a-lifetime experiences at the show.

This year's event brought much excitement because of the large number of anticipated titles that are due out between now and the end of the year. The usual big names in the gaming industry were present including Ubisoft, Activision, EA, Konami, Eidos/Crystal Dynamics, Harmonix, Bethesda and Epic Games to name a few. The event was held at Circa nightclub in the heart of downtown Toronto...<read more>
First of all awesome event they put on in Toronto on August 21st. Once inside a friend and I immediately sought after Gears of War 2; it was being showcased upstairs on 10 TVs that all had MP running and one screen that was demoing the SP footage that we all saw at E3. Cliff Bleszinski was there playing the game … <read more>

Canada has an annual tradition based around games, community, and good times. Microsoft’s X’08 event brought all three as the annual holiday showcase opened it’s doors to community and press alike to view the latest and greatest on the Xbox 360 platform. We all went in with lofty expectations (X’07 was fantastic) and they were exceeded in every way… <read more>
I walked into the main room and was overwhelmed. I had never seen so many TVs, Xbox 360s and video games in my life. I couldn’t decide where to go first. So many thoughts raced through my head. My main goal was to see Gears of War 2 and that was where I headed to first. My plan was not that simple though. Little did I know I wouldn’t reach Gears of War 2 until two hours later… <read more>

Last night was X08 in Toronto. Held at CiRCA, the event showcased software by Microsoft Game Studios as well as fourteen third party developers. These included Ubisoft, EA, Disney Interactive Studios, and a whole bunch of others. There were some great titles on display including all the anticipated blockbusters looming over this holiday season... <read more>
I made it a point to get there early enough that I’d have time to play games in between conversations and I’m very glad I did because X08 was, by far, the best in the entire series.  No contest.  I guess the high-lights would be: 1) Meeting everyone that I met! Fans, friends, gamers… they were all awesome. 2) Meeting Cliff from Epic Games. 3) Meeting Donna from Electric Playground… <read more>

So as you probably know by now, X’08 was in Toronto once again at a place called CiRCA. This venue was amazing, 3 or 4 times the size of the venue last year! The colors and atmosphere at this place were very gamer-esque as well. So, we got all our passes and shenanigans then Greenskull, Club108 and I headed into...the Twilight Zone… <read more>

Where to start? The great time I had with some amazing friends? Or all the awesome games that were shown? Or some of my personal mishaps from the event? Well, I think I’ll give you it all.  First, a short introduction to the event with a small outline and then the games, along with some gameplay videos of some, pictures of others, pictures of the swag and other stuff. Finally, for the end, a minor wrap-up and an announcement! <read more>
