Guitar Hero™ III: Legends of Rock Game Page

This Halloween, some of our lucky community members got a rare opportunity – to join Canadian rock stars Hedley at their CD release party for Famous Last Words. Guests were treated to a brief concert and then posed for photos, gave miles of autographs and took on all comers in Guitar Hero III, both at the party and online over Xbox LIVE.

KowZ was there – here’s his take on the evening’s event!

For most people, Halloween means big parties, tons of candy, and crazy stunts. Therefore, what better than spend Halloween with the Xbox team and a band known for their utter insanity called Hedley? And I don’t think there could have been a better Halloween. The crazy guys from Hedley spent time socializing with the lucky few that could be in Toronto for the event, and then split the rest of their time playing online against those that couldn’t.

Many came online and attempted to beat the band members at a game they were born to play: Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock. Unfortunately for most, these guys aren’t new to Xbox 360 and are hard to beat in the game. Even though this version is fresh off the shelves (it came out just three days earlier!), these guys brought their A-Game.

Near the end of the night, some challenges started at the party and everyone decided to stop and watch. One of the biggest challenges was a battle between casual gamer, KowZ, and hardcore gamer chick, Jade. It turns out being good at first-person shooters and “Geometry Wars” is not enough to beat a veteran Guitar Hero player, and KowZ had to duck out in shame as girls half his age pointed and laughed at his pathetic score.

Next up was Jacob from Hedley and a fan battling it out to see who the better guitarist was. Although Jacob kept trying to convince everyone the guitars he plays are fake and he doesn’t know how to play a guitar, he rocked the game getting a 107 note streak.  One after another, fans lined up desperate to beat him, with no success, leaving Jacob the reigning champion.
