Canadian Xbox Community Lives Their Rock Star Dreams

jadeWith the release of Rock Band, gamers are finally unleashing their inner rock star ... rocking out with their bandmates to awesome tunes in front of an adoring throng of fans. Okay, so your drummer is your 9 year old nephew, and your singer is your crazy roommate ... you're on your way up the charts! We wanted to highlight some of the Canadian Xbox community members who have taken the time to put the game to the test and let everyone know their take on it. “When I turned 14 I received a wonderful birthday present, my very first guitar. Ironically, much like the Fender Strat included with Rock Band, my shiny new black guitar (of unknown make) was also ¾ scale. That guitar would propel me into a life of music that would last for the next eleven years. During that time I learned to play seven other instruments, went on one small tour, played in dozens of shady bars and had one massive realization that I probably didn’t have what it took to be playing stadiums at any point in this lifetime. That was several years ago when I finally gave up and got a so called “real job”.

Games have gone co-op. Like, all of them. It’s hard to find a triple-A title without a co-op mode within. While Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock went in the opposite direction of current trend, focusing on a serious competition based game, Rock Band steps ahead by leaps and bound proving there is a reason the world is caught up in a torrent of friendliness, it’s good to play together.

“I have to admit, when I first heard about the idea of Rock Band I was a bit sceptical, I mean come on, wasn’t a guitar enough? But 10 minutes into my review time with this game my volunteers and I were hooked. There is a lot to mention about Rock Band. While the idea is simple, Harmonix really put not only a fantastic game together, but a great group experience for gamers, family and friends alike.”
