Jade Update: Toronto Teen Becomes World’s Best Madden Player and Serves Up Slice of Humble Pie to U.S. Champion

He beat the Germans, the Americans, and anyone that stood in his way to become the best Madden player in the world.  Yes, that’s right.  Our very own Jamal George has made our great nation proud by flexing his gridiron muscle (or thumb muscles anyways) to take the title of International Champion at the Madden NFL International Championship held in Hawaii during ProBowl weekend.

The final round was a hard-fought victory for Jamal over the German champion in overtime.  And before he could even bask in the glory of his big win, Jamal was challenged by the trash-talking U.S. champion.  Not one to back down from the competition, Jamal accepted the challenge, beating the American 49-7.  Nice work Jamal.

When I asked how he scored such a sweet victory, Jamal let me know, “Defense.  It’s all about the defense.”  Words to live by.  Congratulations Jamal, looking forward to seeing you compete again next year!
