TUROK :  Meet the Turok Developers Contest

 

Official Rules

1)      PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: Contest begins at 12:01 A.M.Eastern Time ET on May 12th, 2008 and ends at Midnight Eastern on May 25th, 2008("Promotion Period"). The winners will be selected in a random drawing from among all eligible entries received.

 

2)      HOW TO ENTER:  Eligible participants may enter the contest by two means:

a.        Access the official contest entry form online at www.xbox.com/en-CA/Games/t/turokus/contest/default.htm and complete and submit as instructed. You must have a valid Xbox gamertag linked to a Windows Live ID account to enter. To obtain a free Xbox LIVE gamertag and free Windows Live account, visit http://www.xbox.com/en-ca/myxbox/myprofile.htm and follow the instructions provided. Limit: one (1) entry per person and Xbox gamertag. Multiple entries submitted by a single entrant in excess of the entry limit are void. Entrants must complete all required information requested on the online entry form to be eligible. Microsoft Canada Co. (“Microsoft” or “Sponsor”) assumes no responsibility for lost, late, or misdirected entries or for any computer, online, telephone, or human error or technical malfunctions that may occur. All entries become the property of Microsoft and will not be returned. Information submitted by entrants will only be used to contact them with information related to the contest, unless otherwise authorized by the entrant; or

b.      By obtaining a contest entry form by sending a self-addressed, stamped envelope to:

and completing and returning the entry form.

Mail-in entry forms will not be distributed after the close of the contest on May 25th, 2008 and must be post-marked by May 27th, 2008. Incomplete or late entries will not be accepted. Microsoft takes no responsibility for lost, late, destroyed or misdirected entries.

3)      WINNER SELECTION: One (1) winner will be selected by random draw from among all eligible entries received. The drawing will be conducted on or around May 26th, 2008 at Microsoft, 1950 Meadowvale Blvd. Mississauga, Ontario, Canada, L5N 8L9. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received.

4)      PRIZES: One (1) Grand Prize available to be won. A two (2) day / two (2) night trip for the winner and a guest to Vancouver, B.C., to visit Propaganda Games and meet the developers of Turok. Trip includes round trip coach air transportation for winner and a guest from a major Canadian commercial airport nearest winner's home, two (2) nights standard, double occupancy hotel accommodations (one room, two people), ground transportation in Vancouver to and from the airport and the hotel and $300 CAD. Approximate Retail Value (ARV) of Grand Prize: $2,500. 

Any applicable taxes on a prize or expenses not listed herein are the sole responsibility of the winner. Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value if entire prize or a portion of an advertised prize is unavailable for any reason. No barter, transfer, or assignment of any prize permitted, except by Sponsor at its sole discretion. Prizes are not redeemable for cash. Limit: One (1) prize per person. Travel companions will be required to execute a Liability/Publicity Release prior to issuance of travel documents.  Travel subject to availability and must be completed on June 4th – 6th or prize will be forfeited and awarded to an alternate winner. Grand Prize winner is solely responsible for obtaining any and all travel documentation necessary for travel including but not limited to a passport. Some restrictions may apply. No cancellation of reservation or transfer of reservation to another date after reservation has been made.

Any and all guarantees and warranties for merchandise prizes are subject to the manufacturer's terms and conditions, and winners agree to look solely to such manufacturers for any such warranty or guarantee claim. Usage of Microsoft Points and Xbox LIVE subscription cards is subject to the Terms and Conditions of Microsoft Corporation governing such use.

5)      ELIGIBILITY:This contest is open only to legal residents Canada, excluding Quebec, who are age of majority in their province at the time of entry. Void where prohibited by law. Employees, directors and officers and their immediate families (parents, children, siblings, spouses) and household members of Microsoft, its divisions, affiliates, subsidiaries, franchisees, retailer, retailer personnel, agents, and/or their advertising, promotional and/or fulfillment agencies (collectively, the "Related Entities") are not eligible to enter.

6)      The prizes are non-transferable and no cash alternatives will be provided.  Microsoft reserves the right to substitute the prize described above with prizes of equal or greater value. 

7)      By entering, all participants agree to abide by the official rules and decisions of Microsofts which are final.  All entries become the property of Microsoft and will not be returned.

8)      Prior to being declared a winner, will be required to correctly answer, unaided and without mechanical or electronic assistance, a time-limited, mathematical skill-testing technical question, to be administered by telephone at a mutually convenient time.

9)      If the selected participant is unable to correctly answer the skill-testing question, cannot be reached by telephone within thirty (30) days of the draw, or otherwise does not meet all contest conditions, his or her prize will be forfeited and another entrant will be drawn from the remaining eligible entries.

10)  To be declared a winner, a selected participant will be required to sign a declaration and release to: (a) confirm compliance with the official rules; (b) release Microsoft from all liability; (c) accept the prize as awarded; and (d) consent to the use of the participant’s name, address, likeness and/or image for publicity purposes in all media. Microsoft reserves the right, at its option, to publish any winner’s name, address (city and province only), photograph, likeness, voice or statement without further compensation to the winner.

11)  The contest is subject to all applicable federal, provincial and municipal laws and regulations. Void where prohibited.

12)  No correspondence will be entered into with participants except the winner(s).

13)  Microsoft assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction to or unauthorized alteration of the entries. Microsoft is not responsible for (i) any problems or technical malfunctions or any telephone network or lines, computer on-line systems, servers, or providers, computer equipment, software; (ii) the failure of any e-mail or entry to be received by Microsoft on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any web site; or (iii) any combination thereof, including any injury or related damage to participants or any other persons, whether computer-related or resulting from participation or downloading of any materials in this contest.   Any deliberate attempt to damage any website or undermine the legitimate administration of this contest may be a violation of criminal and civil laws, and should such an attempt be made, Microsoft reserves the right to seek remedies and damages to the fullest extent permitted by law, including criminal prosecution.

14)  By completing and submitting the entry form or entering this contest on-line, all entrants consent to the collection, use and distribution of their personal information by Microsoft for the purposes of running the contest.  No other use of entrants’ personal information shall be made by Microsoft, except in accordance with the other provisions of these Rules and except as specified and consented to under the privacy policy.

15)  By entering this contest, each entrant hereby acknowledges that he/she has read, understands and will comply with these contest rules in their entirety.
