Jiro from Blue Dragon Shares Some Tips

Published July 24, 2007

Hey everyone, Jiro here from the world of Blue Dragon™! Shu and Marumaro barely listen to me, but hopefully you will. I think you'll find these tips for playing the game really helpful.

That's me in the green in the background. Hi!

Notes from Jiro
Be careful when moving from one area to the next. You may suddenly encounter more powerful monsters! Try to level up a decent amount before heading into unknown areas.

When battling boss characters, it's really important to figure out their pattern of attack. Keep your eyes open so that you're always able to fight with maximum efficiency.

You just might benefit from referring to the Ancient Encyclopedia in battle. Rumor has it that there's a mysterious adventurer out there who will sell really good items to the people he meets, but I'm not so sure …

You should always save your game when you come across a Save Point. Also, make sure to save before setting out from towns and villages. The surest way to have a successful adventure is to save your game whenever possible!

Hope you saved first.

As you gain ranks in the Jack-of-All-Trades class, more skills can be equipped than with other classes. There are also special accessories that only Jack-of-All-Trades can use.

Whenever the letter A appears on the lower-left corner of the screen, it's a call to action. For example, when A appears while traveling in a mechat, it's a sign that there's something in the area. Check it out by pressing A to land!

Magic user classes such as the White Magic User and Black Magic User have low defensive powers, so use the Position command to put them in the back row.

This could be trouble.

Make the most of your Field Skills. Plunge ahead using your Barrier Master's barrier spells to defeat monsters (MP consumed when defeating monsters, progresses from 30 to 10 to 1). And use your Assassin to paralyze monsters with Paralyzing Spheres, or hide with the Stealth skill.

Did you know you can change your controller's button assignments by selecting Config on the Camp Menu? You can also switch the Confirm and Cancel buttons (A and B).

Marumaro's Tips
Hey, Jiro! You're not the only one with useful tips! Maro's got lotsa useful info too!

Uh … Ummm … Oh, yeah! Bracelets boost physical attacks, rings boost magic attacks, earrings boost magic defense, and necklaces boost physical defense!

Oh, and if you boost your Agility status, your turn to attack will come a whole lot quicker! Ya got all that?!
