Forza Motorsport 4 is the most realistic and robust racing simulator to hit the Xbox 360 this season. It's got a great new Autovista mode that lets players explore their cars in full detail with commentary from the hosts of Top Gear. If you're a gear head it doesn't get much better than this.
Some of us can barely tell the difference between an open differential and a camshaft. So, with more than 500 cars to pick from it can be a bit daunting for first timers. That's why with the help of fellow Xbox MVP and auto enthusiast, @DJDatz I've come up with a list of 6 must-drive cars in Forza Motorsport 4.
DeLorean DMC-12
Where we're going we don't need roads. Yes, that's right the famous Back to the Future DeLorean DMC-12 is fully playable in Forza Motorsport 4. Sure, it might be missing a flux capacitor but with its killer gullwing-style doors and fiberglass underbody, this baby can go from 0-88 mph in 7.9 seconds.
Bertone Mantide
Originally designed by Chevrolet as a design study of the Corvette ZR1, this redesigned concept car managed to shed 220 lbs of weight by switching to carbon fibre for both the body panels and the interior. Nearly everything but the CD player in this bad boy is made of the light weight material letting that powerful Corvette engine push it faster and farther.
Pagani Cinque Roadster
With production recently ending, only 5 of this ultra-rare super car exist. Designed for the rich and elite, the current model costs over $2 million and can reach top speeds of up to 217 mph. Needless to say this is one crazy-powerful car that's got a price tag to match. Thankfully there's no added charge for smashing one up in the game.
Koenigsegg Agera
Having won the Hypercar of the Year award in 2010 from Top Gear, this Swedish masterpiece features a 5.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine capable of producing 940 hp at 6900 rpm giving it some serious speed. To top it all off, the body looks like something out of a sci-fi movie, full of sleek lines and futuristic paneling. I guess the Swedish can make a lot more than really clever furniture.
Lamborghini Sesto Elemento
What would this list be without a Lamborghini somewhere on it? With its name translating to mean "Sixth Element", the Sesto Elemento is a force to be reckoned with. While only 20 are currently in production, the car features very innovative hexagonal holes in the engine cover and two intake funnels to keep the machinery from overheating. Unfortunately this one will never be street legal, but that won't stop you from taking it around the block in Forza 4.
Hummer H1 Alpha
Luxury sports cars are a dime a dozen in racing simulators, but it's not every day players get to go behind the wheel of a real tank. The Hummer H1 Alpha is not only the biggest car in the game, it's also the toughest. Sure, it may not be able to go as fast or whip around corners with precision handling, but who really cares when your opponents are crushed beneath your massive 16.5" wheels?
