Your Votes Needed! – Indie Games Summer Uprising

As we've already seen with the amazing lineup of XBLA games running the Summer of Arcade, there's a whole bunch more to download and play on your Xbox 360 this season. The Xbox Indie Games channel is heating up with a community-run contest to find the best independent games for the summer.

There are two slots available for fan nomination and it's up to you to make sure your favourites get noticed. If you've got an Xbox Indie Game you'd like to see featured be sure to hit twitter and let everyone know by using the #IGSU hashtag. When voting starts on August 1st be sure to visit the official Facebook page to have your votes counted.

8 of the finalists have already been chosen, all of which are excellent games. Learn about them by reading more below or by visiting the Indie Games Summer Uprising website.

T.E.C. 3001
T.E.C. (Tesla Energy Collector) 3001 is 3D action single player game. You are guiding a robot through a virtual space to collect leftovers of energy for human kind. There are 20 levels and each one of them brings unique challenge to the player. Player will master in guiding a robot (T.E.C.) on level through series of trials and repetitions. 

SpeedRunner
Use your grappling hook, walljumping, doublejumping and other special abilities to speedrun as quickly as possible across action-packed platforming levels, in order to dismantle the bomb in time! Re-play levels with newly unlocked gadgets to find the best routes and get the highest scores. The singleplayer story lets you play through awesome hand-crafted levels, in which you have to run, jump and swing to avoid spikes and obstacles, while battling against the mad bomber and his diabolical machine.

Raventhorne
Milkstone Studios proudly presents an epic 2D adventure of glory and vengeance! 
Help Raventhorne, the fallen norse hero fullfill his fate and take revenge for his death! Clear your way through the 6 worlds of Yggdrasil, and reach Asgard before Ragnarok is unleashed. But you will not be alone in this task. Others will guide you in your journey through the breathtaking landscapes. But what are their intentions? Are you just a puppet in their hands? Time will tell. 

Take Arms
Take Arms is a 2d multiplayer class-based shooter in development for Xbox Live Indie Games. Set in the near future, the world's two remaining super powers are at war, and both sides are nearly decimated. With their cities charred and ruined, each side is down to the last of their soldiers. The best of the best. The only ones able to survive. Join the fight in the final battles of this last great war!

Train Frontier Express
Train Frontier Express is a stylized landscape building and train riding game, focused on simulating the fun aspects of model railroading rather than complicated aspects of train simulation. Fill your scene with miles of track, hundreds of props, and train car setups, and enjoy a ride of through your own creation.

Cute Things Dying Violently
Flick hapless Critters around to get them safely out of each level! Dodge all sorts of lethal goodies like spikes, buzzsaws, and fire, and use a variety of wacky items to pull it off. Play through 60 mind-bending, reflex-testing singleplayer levels, 6 bloodthirsty challenge levels, and 1 murderous bucket-headed robot! Want more? Doom & Destiny
Doom & Destiny is a conventional Japanese style RPG with an unconventional mood. It tells the adventures of four nerdy friends trapped in a fantasy realm populated by cliché, strange characters and weirder villains. Mistaken for heroes they will take a long journey through dangers and mysteries to reveal the evil plot of Unnamed and his shady lieutenant. Will our heroes be able to find their way home without losing themselves in laughs and bad jokes?

Battle High: San Bruno
Battle High is a 2D fighting game inspired by classic fighting games like those from the old SNK days. Choosing from one of eight elementally powered student, players battle one another in a variety of modes, whether it's a simple one-on-one match or seeing who can better destroy an abandoned vehicle.
