Xbox System - FAQ

How to manage music

You can manage music on your Xbox video game system by creating or deleting soundtracks and adding or deleting songs from soundtracks. The Xbox video game system is designed to play only music CDs that are in standard Compact Disc Digital Audio (CD-DA) format.

You can play audio CDs in the Xbox console (as a CD player), and you can also copy tracks from audio CDs using the Xbox video game system. If tracks are copied to the Xbox, you can arrange the tracks within soundtracks and play them without inserting the original CD.

You can also play soundtracks while you play Xbox game titles that support this feature.

Note: You can only play a soundtrack during a game if this feature is supported by the specific game title. To find out whether a game title supports soundtrack play, and to find out how to play the soundtrack during that particular game, see the game's settings menu and instruction manual.
