Rolling picture on TV when PAL 60 is turned on (PAL only)

Your television may display a rolling picture when PAL 60 is turned on. This behavior may not occur with all games.

Note This article only applies to countries and regions where PAL Xbox consoles are available.

First, verify whether you have PAL 60 turned on. To do this:

1. Start the Xbox console with no disc in the disc tray.
2. On the main Xbox dashboard screen, select Settings.
3. On the Settings screen, select Video.
4. Select PAL-60, and then configure it to NO.

If the issue continues to occur, the Xbox console may require repair.

PAL 60 (60 Hz version of PAL) is an unofficial standard that some TVs support. Microsoft recommends that customers do not turn on PAL 60 because all TVs function correctly with PAL 60 turned off. You can, however, experiment with turning on PAL 60 to see if game display improves and does not cause the rolling picture problem.
