GRAW 2 Multiplayer Demo Released

The multiplayer demo for Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2, the follow-up to the massively popular, smash-hit squad-based action shooter, is now available for free download exclusively on Xbox LIVE Marketplace.

Last year, Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter dominated the next-generation servers on Xbox Live, and the release of the multiplayer demo marks the chance to get a taste of what kind of multiplayer action awaits in the sequel.

Demo Details
The multiplayer demo features the "Outpost" mission from GRAW 2's multiplayer co-op campaign, as well as a variant of that map that will be playable with all-new team game modes of play. In the co-op campaign mission, assault an enemy encampment, gather intelligence, and plant multiple demo charges before extracting. The co-op campaign mission and adversarial game types will be playable with up to 16 players, just like in the full release version of GRAW 2.

On March 16–18, join the Ghost ranks for 72 hours of intense online action with the GRAW 2 Xbox Live Weekend, inlcuding a 24-hour online tournament on Sunday.

The new adversarial game mode featured in the demo is "Takedown," a team elimination game with respawns, but with a twist to it. Players on each team will be randomly selected as the team's "officer." This player's kills and death will count for significantly more points than any other's. This encourages teams to better coordinate their movement and tactics to set their officer up for kills, protect them, or hunt down the other team's officer. When an officer dies, a new player on that team is promoted to the position.

Take out the tank and save your squad.

Solo Sharpshooter matches will be available as well. Get ready to play with all of the 27 new weapons in GRAW 2, including the totally new Storm series weapons suite, M32 Multiple Grenade Launcher, and Claymore mines.

Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 is scheduled for a March 2007 release on Xbox 360.
