Resident Evil 5 (Chapter 6-3: Final Boss)

The final fight against Wesker begins in a hangar. Be ready to hit the "X" button as soon as the cutscene finishes, because Wesker will usually attack you straight away. Once you have dodged this initial attack, try to put some distance between you and Wesker. Now, the strategy that you use will to defeat Wesker will probably differ slightly, depending on whether you are playing alone or with a friend. If you are playing alone, then beating Wesker will be considerably harder (but not impossible).

1. The first thing you will probably realise is that Wesker is too strong to be killed by traditional means. Your standard weapons are not particularly effective, as Wesker will tend to dodge the bullets matrix-style. It is still a good idea to fire shots at him if you are playing with a friend, because it keeps him occupied while your partner works on a way to defeat him. Some of your bullets will likely make contact whenever Wesker prepares to charge you. Just be ready to press the "X" button so that you can dodge his attack, and land a counter-attack. If you are playing alone, then you may want to skip to the next step.
2. Your first priority should be to shut down all the lights in the hangar. To do this, you will need to pull the switches in the southeast, southwest, and northeast corners of the arena. If you are playing by yourself, then Wesker is probably more concerned about killing you than your partner. So be ready to dodge any attacks after pulling a switch, because chances are that Wesker will have caught up with you, and is preparing to unleash a melee attack. Turning off the lights makes it difficult for Wesker to see you, and he will no longer be able to evade your shots effectively. You may have to repeat this step at various points in the battle, however, as Wesker will walk around and try to restore power to the lights.
3. If at any point you notice that Wesker has jumped onto the area next to his plane, quickly find cover as he will start to throw missiles at you. If you get hit by a missile, then it's game over.
4. The best way to defeat Wesker is by using the RPG-7 NVS rocket launcher. This is located in the northwest corner of the map. You will need to break the glass container with your knife, before you can grab the weapon. Have your partner pick up the weapon and fire it at Wesker! If done correctly, it will activate a brief cutscene which shows Wesker struggling to hold off the rocket. At this point, you should try to shoot the rocket so that it blows up in his face. Amazingly, this only stuns him! You will then need to get in closer and inject him with the Uroboros virus, while your partner restrains him.

This activates an interactive cutscene that shows a very angry Wesker board his plane in an attempt to unleash Uroboros on the world. It's your job to stop him! Providing you press the buttons correctly, Wesker's plane should crash into a volcano. Congratulations! You have just averted a global catastrophe. But don't start celebrating just yet, as your work is still not done. Wesker emerges from the wreckage, and decides that it's time for an "extreme makeover!" - his words, not mine! This next battle can be quite tricky, because things need to be completed in a certain order. If you activate an event prematurely, you will probably need to start over.

1. As soon as the cutscene ends, start running away from Wesker. In doing so, you will activate another cutscene that shows Chris falling down to a lower platform, and injuring himself in the process. If you are playing as Chris, turn around and leap across the lava to a small island. Now run up the hill to the left, and ignore the other path which leads to a large boulder. You will come back to this later. Wesker will follow you up the hill. Keep circling Wesker, and take pot shots at his head whenever you get the chance. If you are playing as Sheva, run through the small tunnel, but don't run too far ahead. If you do, the ground below you will give way, and you will have to start fighting for your life. Trust me, you don't want to activate this event until you have no other choice! Instead, provide support for Chris by focusing your fire on Wesker.
2. Once you have done enough damage to him, Wesker will decide to launch himself over to where Sheva is located. As Sheva, run away from Wesker until the bridge collapses. To stay alive, the person playing Sheva will need to rapidly punch the "X" button so that Sheva doesn't fall into the lava. As Chris, you will also need to shoot Wesker in order to stop him from attacking Sheva as she hangs onto the ledge.
3. Sheva should then be able to clamber onto the other side and run down to your level. In order to be reunited with Sheva, however, the person playing Chris will need to return to the large boulder and follow the on-screen prompts to push it into the lava. This provides a stepping stone that Sheva can use to cross over to the island.
4. Now the two of you should return up the hill for the final showdown. Shoot at Wesker's head, until the weak spot on his chest is revealed. Shoot the weak spot, and then have one partner run behind Wesker to restrain him, while the other player presses a button to finish him off.
5. Wesker will make one last, desperate attempt to kill you in the ensuing cutscene. Simply complete the QTE, and put him out of his misery for good!
