What to Expect
QUAKE 4, from id Software, is the latest entry in the vaunted series, and its use of the DOOM 3® engine gives it nearly unprecedented graphical impact. It is a brutally gorgeous shooter, combining war-like tactics with fast, hard-hitting gameplay. You play as Corporal Matthew Kane, the newest member of Rhino Squad, joining the fight against the alien Strogg.

What You Should Know

• The QUAKE 4 demo is available to both Silver and Gold members of Xbox Live, so, as long as you have a connection to the service, you can download and play the demo for free.
• The demo starts from the beginning of the game as you and your fellow squadmates make landfall in Earth's epic invasion of the Strogg home planet. You battle through two large areas at the beginning of the game, including a heavily guarded Strogg installation and the chaotic air defense trenches cut through the desolate Stroggos landscape.
• For Xbox Live Gold members, the demo offers enough multiplayer action to keep you competing online for days, with two versions of the popular map, "The Fragging Yard"—one for larger matches and another specially designed for one-on-one combat. The maps are playable in Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, and Tournament modes.
