Premium Download: Long Beach, CA
The latest batch of cars and circuits for Project Gotham Racing 2 is ready. Xbox Live subscribers can treat themselves to Long Beach, California, and see if they have what it takes to race eight new tracks in eight new vehicles. With a valid Xbox Live subscription, Project Gotham Racing 2 aces can get all the Long Beach content for a one-time charge of $6.99.
Set along the sun-drenched coast of Southern California, each of the eight new routes is lined with exquisite real-world details. Palm trees wave in your wake as you blow by at over 150 MPH, passing famous landmarks like the Capitol Records building. The courses are tight and complex, providing ample opportunity for you to link corners together with glorious power slides. Many circuits feature long straight-aways that allow the powerful cars to reach top speed. Don’t get too comfortable up near the top of your speedometer, though, because all of the Long Beach routes feature sharp dips and insane hairpin turns—balancing speed and style has never been more challenging or more important.
The cars included in the Long Beach booster pack are up to the many challenges presented by the new tracks. The roster varies in size from the huge Dodge Ram SRT-10 truck—the world’s fastest truck—to the go-kart sized Ariel Atom 2. American muscle like the Dodge Challenger R/T Hemi tears alongside high-performance machines like the Ferrari 612 Scaglietti and the Volkswagen Nardo. Rally fans rejoice as the famous Subaru Impreza 22B STi makes its debut. For all-around capability, you may want to get behind the wheel of the Porsche 911 GT2 Clubsport. All of them are stand-out vehicles, but one offers a unique challenge: The Radical SR3 Turbo. Clearly designed for speed, its maxed-out stats for Acceleration and Handling make it a clear favorite for precise Xbox Live contenders; however, its lower Top Speed and Power Sliding stats make it a tougher challenge for racers looking to slide their way to victory. The question remains: Has TVR’s Cerbera Speed 12 finally met its match with the low-slung Radical?
So what are you waiting for? Get online, get downloading, and get racing.
