The prequel to the genre-defining first-person shooter Perfect Dark has been a long time coming. Luckily, patient gamers have been rewarded handsomely with the release of the Xbox 360™ masterpiece Perfect Dark Zero. In the game, you take control of the sassy agent Joanna Dark on a series of wild missions set in the near future.
You encounter stiff resistance on the shuttle pad. Each mission has a set of specific goals, some primary and others secondary. There are multiple ways to go about completing them, so how you approach combat is entirely up to you. The following walkthrough covers the basics of the second mission. Try to finish the level on your own before resorting to our guide; otherwise, you may lose the thrill of discovery that makes the game so much fun to play. The Stakeout Smack the goon sitting on the crate just ahead of you and take him down, then wait patiently for the next guard to walk by. Run up behind him and take him down with a swift hit to the skull. Climb the ladder at the far end of the docks and survey the scene. Several guards are hanging tight at the front entrance, and a number of foot soldiers are hanging out near a fountain down below. Run quickly to the front of the staircase leading down to the fountain, but don't engage your enemies. Instead, activate the audioscope and search around until you spot a rather cheesy looking shirtless goon walking around (he's highlighted green instead of red). Get a fix on him until you get a lock. Once you've identified your target, it's time to move on to the next area. Move swiftly and silently to the right side of the nightclub and keep close to the walls. Move behind the parked cars and along the building until you find a locked door. Use the locktopus to gain access to the building. Hang a left and move silently into the warehouse without getting spotted. You see the next enforcer chatting it up with a fellow bruiser. Get a lock on him with the audioscope, and then eliminate all enemies in the vicinity. Exit through the locked door on the far side using your locktopus.
Tougher skill settings mean more objectives. Clear out any guards you come across in the alleyway, and then head left and down a flight of stairs into the club's basement. Fight through both rooms, making your way to the club's interior, but don't enter the main area just yet. There's a metal detector inside the doorway leading to the dance floor—if you walk through an alarm sounds and you're assaulted by a ton of guards. Instead, head down the hallway to the left and enter the door to the security room. Dispatch any foes and deactivate the metal detector using the computer. Now all you have to do is rid the place of civilians and you can enter the club with guns blazing. Shoot the fire alarm on the wall and wait for the place to clear out. Reload your guns and get ready for some action. Enter the club and waste any foot soldiers that cross your path. Run up a series of staircases and cross some catwalks until you reach the top floor. Some sentry guns threaten to stop you in your tracks, so check high on the walls and over doorways—take the guns out before you get shot full of lead. Follow the waypoints to find your father, Jack Dark, inside the penthouse.
