Kameo: Elements of Power is littered with epic battles. From the large-scale events on the Battlefields, to the smaller scale action in the dungeons and temples, and the major boss battles that end each chapter. Here you'll find decisive strategy to take down the first four major bosses in the game, which will bring you to the end of your quest for your three lost relatives (though not to the end of the game). Now onto the strategy!

Pummelweed that jaw.

Pummelweed that jaw.

Castle Boss
This super-sized armored troll is in a poor mood as Kameo approaches, and he'll launch straight into attack mode as he pounds his giant mace into the ground, causing shockwaves, or swipe it violently hoping to catch Kameo or one of her elemental warriors with a devastating hit.

To defeat him, you'll need to alternate between Pummelweed and Chilla:

  1. Use Pummelweed's Creeper technique (Right and Left Trigger) to slide along the ground. Then, use the Right Trigger to land an uppercut when the troll exposes his big ol' chin.
  2. Switch to Chilla after nailing the troll with the uppercut, and immediately click the Left Trigger to throw an ice spear at the boss's chin. You'll see his head snap back if it connects properly.

Fling it at his head!

Fling it at his head!

You'll need to repeat this strategy a few times to knock him down for the count.

Hardcore Tip: This boss does have a weak spot that will instantaneously put him down for the count: they're the chandeliers hanging from the ceiling. If you can smack him with Pummelweed while he's under a chandelier, and then knock the chandelier down with Chilla (hit the chain holding the chandelier with a well aimed ice spear), you'll dispose of this pesky boss in one hit. To line him up properly, look for the circles on the ground. Hit him when he's standing on one of these, and you'll have him right where you need him.

Forest Boss—Freeing Halis
Alas, poor Halis has found himself imprisoned within a great big grumpy tree with a startling case of troll dandruff. Luckily, he's got Kameo and her stalwart elemental warriors ready to sort the whole mess out.

Launch that explosive shell at him.

Launch that explosive shell at him.

The forest boss can be defeated with a two pronged attack.

  1. Use Pummelweed to pop under one of the explosive shells lying about as big-boss-tree-guy sends waves of barbed roots at you. Once inside, aim the shell at the boss, and just as you're about to reach him, use the uppercut (Right Trigger) to toss the shell in his face. It should explode on impact.
  2. Once you've nailed him with the explosive shell, he'll have a little tantrum and start shaking bemused trolls out of his hair. Switch to Rubble and roll close to the boss's face. When he opens his big mouth, use the Left Trigger to lob a rock inside. If you find yourself bothered a bit too much by the trolls he shook loose, just use Rubble's Gravel Blast ability to stun the surrounding trolls. That should afford you enough time to lob the rock in his mouth in peace.

Lodge that rock in his gullet.

You'll need to repeat this strategy until Halis is released, and while the boss's attacks may intensify, the strategy should remain the same.

Water Boss—Rescuing Lenya
New challenges and enemies can nearly always be met with the newest ability/item/character you've just discovered, and since you'll have just rescued Major Ruin and Deep Blue from the oily clutches of the Shadow Trolls, you'll use them exclusively to defeat the lightning-happy Water Temple boss.

I think he means business.

I think he means business.

  1. Switch to Major Ruin and roll yourself over to the ramp closest to the boss. Then, wait for the lightning attack roll, but try to stay near the ramp. When the attack is finished, line yourself up behind one of the exploding balls, hold down the Right Trigger to power up Major Ruin's spin, and send the exploding ball up the ramp and into the face of the boss.
  2. Waste not a moment as you send the creature under the surface with the explosion. Immediately switch to Deep Blue and dive under water. Aim your torpedoes at the glowing blue orbs at the end of each tentacle. With good aim, you should be able to destroy two of the orbs on your first trip under water. After that, just worry about one at a time.

Launch that ball in his grill.

Again, like every boss, you'll need to repeat this strategy. However, you'll find the boss's attacks will become much more rapid, and he'll switch locations after every lightning strike. If you miss him with Major Ruin's tactic, just follow him to the next ramp, avoid the lightning strike and try again.

Ice Boss—Liberating Yeros
This multi-eyed, stalactite-chucking beast is your last obstacle to recovering your three lost family members. Again, he'll require a two pronged attack, and again, you'll use your most recent acquisitions to defeat him—Chilla and 40 Below.

I was just enjoying the view. I swear!

I was just enjoying the view. I swear!

  1. Switch to Chilla, and use your ice-pick chucking ability (use the Left Trigger to bring up the aiming reticule) to hit the boss in any one of his many eyes. If you're having trouble hitting him while he's moving around, just wait for him to charge you and plant his feet into the ground. He'll be stuck long enough for you to step back, aim, and shoot. Also, watch out for the falling ice shards—you can spot where they're going to fall by the green circular outline that appears on the ground. Wait till the whole lot is done falling before attempting to tag the boss in the eye.
  2. Switch immediately to 40 Below after you hit him in the eye (dozens of little green eyes will spill out on the ground). First, make a snowball with 40 Below (Left and Right Triggers), and then hold down the Right Trigger to swing the snowball round and round, and knock off all the offending eyeballs. Be careful you don't get caught idle among them; they do tremendous amounts of damage.

Aim well.

Aim well.

Again, you'll need to repeat this strategy until the boss is left with just one giant eye. Once you knock that out with Chilla, repeat the technique with 40 Below and knock the giant eye off the ledge. It takes some doing, but just keep swinging around and nudging it closer and closer to the edge.

That's it! Thanks to your skill and our strategy in finishing off these bosses, you'll have successfully rescued your three lost family members. Now it's off to the final stretch, where Thorn shall be challenged and revenge against your sinister sister shall be had.
