Halo Fans Win Books
You may remember that, in the Halo 2 Readiness Guide
Part 2, we offered signed copies of the Halo
novels. Man, we got a lot of response on this one! It was really
hard to pick only 10 winners, but here they are. They will each
receive copies of all three Halo novels, with First
Strike and Fall of Reach personally signed by author
Eric Nylund.

Nylund signing books for our 10 lucky winners.
"I've read the books and love Eric Nylund's writing. I'm on my
way to having read his other books, Signal to Noise, Signal
Shattered, and Dry Water. I would love to own a book
signed by one of my favorite authors."
—Bookeworm, Aurora, Colo.
"A signed copy of his work would be a terrific souvenir from the
author that transformed a great video game into an even greater,
fuller storytelling experience."
—VoodooHack, Bronx, N.Y.
"I play Halo with my son. He is so into it. When we go
head-to-head, he beats me up every time. My wife believes that any
one under the age of 20 should not be allowed to play
Halo. I do not have the same views and will play
Halo with my son every chance I get. My son is fully aware
that his mother does not want him to play, and when my wife starts
to come downstairs, he will switch the channel and act like we are
watching sports. I have already purchased Halo 2 and have been waiting
for November 9 to finally get here. I will be at the store at
midnight to get my copy, take the day off from work, and call my
son in sick from school to play Halo 2 over and over. So,
I would like to submit a request for my son to get an autographed
Halo book to assist him in his reading skills."
—CUWIZMAN, Aurora, Colo.
"I have been to more than eight Barnes and Nobles book stores and
almost every library in my area, only to find out that the books
are either all sold out or all checked out. I also have gotten five
people to buy Halo and three people to buy Xbox just to
play Halo and Halo 2."
—Gamer90, Bronx, N.Y.
"Eric Nylund is one of my favorite authors, and I look forward to
reading the next book. Please oh please, write another. I can't get
enough of it. The book did marvelous things to me. I am 13, and
this book made me read. Can you believe that? Please give me the
book. I would love it."
—Spartan, Bothell, Wash.
"My small town does not have a copy of the book (believe me, I
checked), so not only would I be getting autographed books as a
collector's item … I'll actually get to read the books I've been
searching for."
—Vlad the Grey, Sherwood Park, Alberta,
Canada
"I have read all three books several times. Then I got my friends
to read them, too. I recommended them to many people in the
Xbox.com Forums. My copies are a few thousand miles away from me,
and I don't think I will be able to get them back."
—TopAce6, Williston, N.D.
"I consider First Strike the best novel of all time. It
even beat out my two previous favorites: Jurassic Park and
Return of the King. First Strike excited my brain
so much that some of the cliff-hanger chapter endings resulted in
verbal outbursts from me at about 3:00 A.M. I lost sleep a few
nights just trying to see what happened next."
—Bubba Stynx, Tempe, Ariz.
"I can't wait any longer. November 9 can't come soon enough for me.
I am a 26-year-old male and have never read a book in its entirety.
Master Chief is a true baD a$$. The Fall of Reach sounds
like the first book I will finish. Reading is very difficult for me
[because] I have A.D.D. and dyslexia. But, the Halo story
is so interesting; I know it would hold my attention. I have had
Halo 2 reserved for six months. Looking forward to its
release is an understatement. I need more Halo."
—SLEEGZ, Weymouth, Mass.
"I went to my local bookstore and found a copy of The Fall of
Reach. I could not put this book down. I read it in one or two
sittings and couldn't wait until I could get the next two. After
finishing the last two books in the series, I was and still am
pumped for Halo 2. I want to see what happens to Master
Chief and the remaining SPARTANs, where Dr. Halsey went with Kelly,
and the importance of that stone."
—AwesomeBill, Princeton, W.V.
Congratulations to all our winners!
