Xbox Member ReviewBattlefield: Bad CompanyBy Cheezbrgr GOLD! Sweet, Sweet GOLD! Who doesn't think about that once in a while? What you would do with millions of dollars. Unfortunately your daydream doesn't quite work out. Nothing like that happening for the boys of B-Company. You have Redford - the squad leader, Sweetwater, the technical guy, and Haggard - the gold lover. Then you have yourself, Preston Marlow, the new guy. All there for different reasons, all trying to finish their service - and by service, I mean getting rich. The new Battlefield franchise demonstrates the great continuation of a saga, and unlike many other FPS games, gives a unique touch to the series.
The achievements for this game are well spread out, with great names (that I wont spoil for you by telling you now - you will just have to unlock them to understand). Besides the level achievements, there are ones for knocking down walls in the excellent new Frostbite engine, but more on that later. The game has also changed from the standard of style of many shooters such as Halo 3 and Gears of War. Where previously you would heal from cowering from enemies, you can now jump out, and poke yourself with the auto-injector, or LIFE-2, which will heal you to full health, so you can laugh in their faces as they shoot at you! This also results in a comically named achievement. Also, should you happen to die, the foes you struck down (hopefully while laughing at them!) will stay down, and the same ensues with the houses you have wrecked, and the vehicles, which will no doubt need to be touched up by a mechanic.
The thing I found most brilliant and unique across all the aspects of this game were the destructable environments. The Frostbite engine really is unique. Where in other games, walls disappear when you shoot at them, the Frostbite engine allows you to see the wall crumbling, and turning to rubble. It's unbelievably satisfying to go in a tank and blow up everything in sight...and then get rewarded for it by achievements!
