Gamer Spotlight:
TriXie Interviews ST TheKing
He's a student in Quebec City, a former beta tester, and he's got the highest gamerscore on Xbox Live®. Here's everything you ever wanted to know about numero uno ST TheKing.
TriXie: What's the story behind your gamertag?
ST TheKing: My gamertag goes back from the beta, it was TheKing back then. I was looking for something that was easy to remember and that could inspire some respect, since I can hold my own in almost every game. But then I got tired of getting called Elvis, so I added ST (Sadistic Tendencies), which is my clan tag.
TriXie: What do you do in Quebec City?
ST TheKing: I'm still at school. I study in computer programming and I plan to go college in software engineering in late 2007.
TriXie: Everyone wants to know: How many hours DO you spend gaming?
ST TheKing: A LOT. Since the launch of Xbox 360™ I think I have played over 1000 hours, and I'm being conservative with this number. I play at least four hours a day, but when I get a game I really like or when I really want an achievement, this number can go WAY up.
TriXie: Which Xbox 360 achievement was the most satisfying to earn?
ST TheKing: They are all satisfying in their own ways, but if I had to pick one … I would say it's a tie between "Survived 1,000,000" in Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved and "No Crash Victory: Single Races" in Ridge Racer™ 6.
TriXie: My coworker RabbiLoWang finally knocked you out of the top spot on Xbox Live Arcade. Are you aiming to take back first place, or is the Arcade scoreboard small potatoes next to overall gamerscore?
ST TheKing: Every point is important and you can't overlook some achievements just because they seem out of reach, because in the end the first place is gonna go to the one who has been able to get those. Plus, Arcade makes about 10% of my gamerscore, so it's definitively important. So RabbiLoWang had better watch his back because I want my spot back. If there are great Joust™ or Smash TV players out there who want to help me out, send me a message and I will add you to my friends list.
TriXie: As the top dog, you must have a lot of people trying to take you down. Do you have an archenemy on Xbox Live?
ST TheKing: I don't talk a lot of trash when I'm online. I'm what you could call a silent gamer. So I don't really have any arch enemy. But I do have arch rivals like ST Morgoths who is also a great friend of mine (we won a Rainbow Six tournament together) and of course all the others who are trying to catch me in gamerscore like TheGrayWolf and Drakkenstrike.
TriXie: What's your Xbox® setup like? Is it fit for a king?
