Remorhaz joins the Xbox Insiders

So what does Remorhaz actually mean?
It is a mythical character from Dungeons and Dragons and it is a sort of "Ice Dragon"

What type of gamer are you?
I'm basically a shooter fan and I absolutely love playing them online. Since I got Xbox Live (back in June 2003) I have pretty much ONLY played games on Xbox Live. In fact the last game that I can remember even playing any of the single player of was Halo 2. I'm more of a rip the cover off the game and stick it in the drive and log straight into Live type of person.

Any other games you play?
Racers are probably my next favourite but I'm more of an arcade racer fan rather than true sims fan. If I didn't have Live I'd probably play some platformers too. I was a big D&D fan when I was younger but I just don't have the time to spend with an Adventure or RPG these days, much as I would like to.

For you Sports games fans - I'm sorry to say I could never get into them - and Fighting games are an absolute no-no for me - you could almost say that any game which requires pressing more than a few buttons at once or in sequence or where buttons are overloaded with multiple functions is just beyond my meagre talents :)

What about a little background info?
I guess it all started with some very simplistic games on the Apple II computer. That followed with a succession of Apple based systems, the Tandy TRS 80 and even Commodore Vic 20. Then the climax of my early gaming came with the Amiga 1000. The Amiga had some seriously amazing games for that time (and they fit on a 1.44MB floppy!!).
I had a bit of a hiatus with gaming for quite a few years then whilst I was at University and then starting out my "real" career but I was eventualy brought back into the fold when a friend and I both bought a Nintendo 64. I think Goldeneye really brought about my love for the FPS genre and I havn't looked back since. We used to spend one lunchtime a week playing 4 player split screen multiplayer on the conference room projector and thats probably where my love of multiplayer against human players started.

Fast forward to the midnight launch of the Xbox in Australia and there I was driving home with Halo and Rallisport a few minutes after midnight to pull an all nighter. I'm what you would call a mature age (is that the nice way to put it) gamer - I didn't know anybody else with an Xbox so for me multiplayer was out - it wasn't till I discovered Xbox Connect that I even played any multiplayer on the Xbox (and loved it).

The advent of Xbox Live was mind blowing for me. Since then it has grown into a phenomenal local community on Xbox Live and where once I knew absolutely no-one with an Xbox I now have literally hundreds of friends via the Forums and over Xbox Live - many of whom I've now even had the pleasure of meeting in person.

What about the future?
Now I'm in eager anticipation of the 360 and pondering how I'm going to explain to my wife how I need to upgrade my whole setup to HD to properly do justice to my new toy.
