| | Second Annual Community Party Rocks the Xbox BoothThere were drinks, demos, and prize drawings among great gamer friends. I didn't think anything could top last year's C3@E3 party … until Peter Moore showed up at this year's Community Connection Celebration Wednesday night in the Xbox® booth. By 6:30 P.M., the South Hall was packed with folks waiting to get into the party. After the huge success of last year's party this was definitely a hot ticket. Peter Moore stopped by for a few minutes between other engagements to have a drink, mingle with the gamers, and tell the community "We're nothing without you." Who was there? Gamertag Radio, Gamertag Pics, PMS Clan, Xbox team members, OntheSpotGames.com, the Frag Dolls, Electronic Arts, Rockstar Games, Ubisoft, Xbox MVPs, the official Xbox.com E3 bloggers, and community gurus arne360, vidguy, and jade dragonfly, and about 400 other awesome members of the community, plus (of course) our illustrious hosts, the PR trifecta of John Procaro, Tony Hynes, and Cesar Menendez. Rockstar held a Table Tennis tourney right there in our booth. Xbox MVP Zamees came out on top, winning a trip to Paris. Yes, this is the same dude that once won another Xbox tournament that took him to the south of France for the finals. Sigh. Let someone else have a chance, dude. In addition to snapping tons of digital photos, Gamertag Radio and Istillplaygames.com were podcasting, and there was a documentary filmmaker tagging along with the PMS Clan. Every 15 minutes or so Major Nelson took the stage and did a drawing for swag, Xbox Live® starter kits, and gift certificates. The final drawing took place as the party came to a close. PMS DangerDoll jumped up and down and squealed when she won the grand prize. This is seriously our favorite event of the year. It's so cool to put faces to gamertags and celebrate the vibrant, diverse, and thriving community that you all have created. Can't wait for 2007!! Article by TriXie |
