Xbox Live and Routers

Xbox Live Compatible routers are great for connecting to Xbox Live, because they’ve been thoroughly tested to ensure that they work with every feature and function of the Xbox Live service. Get the latest information about specific Xbox Compatible models and firmware to optimize your connection in the tables below.

There are two types of routers – those that connect to the Ethernet port on your modem (see the “ Standalone Routers” section) and those which include an in-built DSL modem (see the “ Combined DSL Modem/Router” section).You should make sure you choose the appropriate type for your connection!

Use these Xbox Compatible Standalone routers with Xbox Live

The following routers work with Xbox Live when connected to a modem that has an Ethernet connection.To find out more about a particular router, follow the vendor link.

Note To make sure your router will work, check that your firmware is the same as the versions listed below.

What if my router isn't listed?

Some devices have not been fully tested or require extra steps to work with Xbox Live. We don't list those devices because if it doesn't pass all of our tests or meet our criteria for a smooth setup and connection, we can't guarantee that you’ll have the awesome online gaming experience you expect.
